{"id":644,"date":"2015-10-12T13:53:08","date_gmt":"2015-10-12T20:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zethus.ca\/wp\/?p=644"},"modified":"2015-10-13T14:30:20","modified_gmt":"2015-10-13T21:30:20","slug":"iot-weather","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zethus.ca\/wp\/?p=644","title":{"rendered":"Iot Weather"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"I of T\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EZIyFmB_mhw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I&nbsp;built an IoT weather thing based on&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.squix.ch\/2015\/05\/esp8266-projects-internet-connected.html\">this squixtech thing<\/a>. &nbsp;I had to do a bunch of <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-646 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/zethus.ca\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_1396-e1444680736884-300x226.jpg\" alt=\"GPIO Breakout\" width=\"340\" height=\"259\">modifications to the oled code to use my SPI OLEDs instead of the I2C OLEDs in the squixtech device. &nbsp;I also used a ESP-01 board and had to break out the gpio by soldering directly to the esp8266ex chip. Video and pictures here for your viewing amusement:<\/p>\n<p>I just stuck the ESP-01 and SSD1306 boards to the back of AAA battery holder with 3M VHB double-sided tape. &nbsp;The batteries give just less than 3V. It seems to be enough. I also disabled the red LED on the 8266 board, it was blinding.
