I just took delivery of a ws2811 led strip from ebay.  These are RGB leds with a build in serial controller. It turns out they are the 800 KHZ variety.  I got them running in about 5 minutes with the lady ada s/w (neo-pixel) and my arduino. I’ll probably turn them into a equinox clock or something.  I am really surprised how bright they are.
